Epic announces broadcast details for FNCS

Epic Games outlined its broadcast plan for the Fortnite Champion Series on Friday as the competitive season began.

Epic will be highlighting the top content on official Fortnite streaming and social channels, while also moving away from official weekend broadcasts in favor of content recaps throughout the following week. The prize pool for the FNCS will total more than $10 million across all regions and competitions.

The recaps will use server replay functionality to follow players, provide unique coverage and highlight key moments with commentary from broadcasters.

Epic used server replays, which contain information on the entire island and all players, to broadcast the Fortnite World Cup Online Open Qualifiers.

A three-round Trios event will be held each weekend for five weeks starting Friday, with the top teams from each region each week advancing to the Season X Finals, which will be held online from Sept. 20-22.
